  1. I fell in love with nature photography again on a weekend trip to Central Oregon. On my own, I spent three days exploring some gems hiking in the Newberry Volcano National Monument and Deschutes National Forest. Benham Falls Trail captivated me with its stunning vistas of Mt. Bachelor and the Deschutes River. Trail of the Molten Lands was aglow with blooming gray rabbitbrush and awesome views of Lava Butte and Cascade Peaks galore. With the aid of a forest ranger, Obsidium Flow Trail was a great lesson in geology and volcanic lava flows. Paulina Lake and Paulina Falls Trail blew my mind with their serenity and transcendence. The sites energized my inner child and had me bouldering to get better camera angles.
