Learning Tolerance Through Travel

We live in a world that has become more polarized and less tolerant towards those who disagree about the environment, politics, religion, and sexual preference.  People join groups of like-minded people,  read only the writings of authors sharing their viewpoints, listen to radio stations that cater to their biases, and watch media that demonize those with whom we disagree. It is no wonder then that we live in a polarized country and world where civil dialogue is a rare commodity. Travel is one way to break down the barriers that separate us and meet new people from diverse backgrounds. Reading about travel is another.  My book Tales Form The Trips:How I Grew To Be A Father is about how I became a more tolerant grandfather, father, husband,  citizen and child of God by traveling across America and foreign countries.
